Hi,

I was wondering how usable OS/2 these day's is. Maybe I will give it a try...
I have an old laptop which runs now Windows NT 4.0. I just use to listen to music (mp3), and writing letters.

Questions:
* Are there enough drivers available?
* Will it better run than NT 4.0
* software?
* important differences between 3.0 and 4.0
* How many diskspace does an installation require OS/2 3 / 4?(I don't have that much space, windows NT uses +/- 100 Mb)
* other tips for a newbie in OS/2-world

They are still usuable as standalone O/S and have lots of features and with the Bonus Pak plenty of free software. Connecting to internet via dial-up modem is easy, via xDSL is more difficult.

I have actually reverted back to NT4, SP6A, IE6 SP1, because of lack of support for JAVA/SSL on older OS/2 browsers:

Hi, i386DX,

There are many, many drivers for OS/2 Warp.
I just finished updating and adding links to my drivers page on my OS2WarpLinks web site.
You may wish to look at it at:

http://www.os2warplinks.com/main/drivers.htm

(Bring a lunch!)

Despite Warp's unfair reputation for "not having drivers" it is the largest page on my web site!

I recall reading years ago that Warp 3 was approximately equivalent in power to Window$
NT 3.51 and that Warp 4 is approximately equivalent in power to Window$ NT 4 which was built partly from Warp 4 code. Warp has a well earned reputation for being superior to Window$.

There is so much software available for Warp on and through the Web that you, me and everybody else posting on this forum would likely not be able to load it up and run it in our short lifetimes.
