Can someone confirm for me or correct me if I'm wrong, when I format a Hard Disk in OS/2, does OS/2 only carry out a high level format and clear the VTOC entries, effectively wiping out paths to the data held on the disk and therby making the disk appear empty. The reason I ask is that it only takes 13 seconds to format a 10.2Gb disk.
Thanks in advance,
Grant

Hi,

You're right. To force a complete disk format you can use the parameter/L (long format).
