Subject: OS/2 4.0 installation problems. HELP!!!

Comment: Hi! I'm trying to install OS/2 Warp 4.0 in my Win 98 HD. I made a partition with FIPS of 188 mb. When I run the installation program, when I go to FDISK and I have to set the installable partition it doesn't let me pick the new one, in fact, it doesn't let me pick any partition at all! When I try the Advanced Install, quit FDISK, and select Accept the drive, it tells me there is a problem opening a file. How can I install OS/2 Warp 4.0? Is anything wrong with my CD? What do I have to do?

Reply: (edit)Did you sign the new Partition you made as Installpartition ? Anyway it is better to install the Bootmanager as well (it makes a primary partition ~3MB) then you have to choose "add patition to Bootmenue" for the Dos or Win Partition in order to be able to boot these. This all is for Warp 4.0. i donīt know nothing of the other versions.

Reply: (edit)You quite probably have to update your installation disks with the current idedasd.exe package.
