Os cant be put on hd

OS: Seagate baracuda 40 Gb
CPU/Ram: Emachines

Okay, I got this emachines, and the hd with it was defective, i buy a new one and put it in, and it says os not found Duh! so i put the cd in and it wont read, nothing happens, so i checked bios, and it didnt look like it detected anything, what do i do?

You may need to use overlay software if the bios doesn't support that size hdd.

You can obvoiusly get on the internet so go over to seagate and download the software and create the disks required.
