dear sir/madam,
i am not familiar with the various operating systems that are on the market and would be grateful if you might be able to tell me the major operating systems that are used by large corporations and what the expected trends are in the operating systems field for the 21st century - i would like to get the latest for my job.
i need the information as soon as possible and i hope you are able to assist me.

There are a lot of OS for instance: Windows 9x, NT, 2000; System 7 (Macintosh); Linux (almost free version of Unix like); MVS (used for IBM mainframes); VM (Mainframes); AS/400 (IBM for mid range computers - AS/400 is not a PC is not a Mainframe is called mid range); and among others and what I consider the best and most stable: HP Solaris x.x ( Unix version from Hewlett Packard ).
In general Microsoft Windows 2000 and HP Solaris will be leading the OS market.Carlos
