Yea
when installing it gives the choice to format and install on fat dont pick it because it will go through 12 floppies (disk 0 to disk 11) and then give an error after rebooting

I also think it has to be installed on the first active partition

Did you go through the networking installation screen when you installed? You should have, but if the installation was messy, maybe that's the problem. Go to your system setup folder, then look for Install/Remove (or something like that). In that folder, you should have 'Selective Install for Networking'. Run that and choose your services.

If you don't have it, you can run the file from x:\ibminst (where x: is the drive you installed to), I think it's npconfig.exe (not sure though) - or you can look for it on CD-ROM. I don't think either of these ways are very good.

You could try running the Selective Install option again, also.

Good luck.

If you have MPTS in System Setup, then go there and configure an adapter (first adapter in list before 3Com stuff), and bind only TCP/IP to it.

This will be for the modem.

Then when you reboot, click on Programs on your desktop and goto IBM Internet (I believe) and there is a Dial Other Providers (white phone). That is how you create your dailer...
