Hi,I'm an "new-comer"who just discovered this kind of softwares,after I was given,an old set of Ast-Bravo 12 Lap-Top computer,and complete with,installed Os2-2.2.1{?}a couple years back.My machine was stolen,along with the copies,and all back-ups,from a friend's car.I have,since,been given 2 old lap-tops;one with bad bios battery(?)and,b&w,an"Action-Note"by Epson.It has corrupt Dos-5/6 etc.on it,doesn't work too good. I have,several sets,the boxes,and,un-complete sets of install discs,for OS2-Warp3 and,Os2-2.0... My questions are: If boxes{"Red"&"Blue"}have an # printed on them...AND,I obtain down-loaded or copied Install-disks{18 or 25?}on floppies: CAN I Install from other sets,floppies,then type in,box #'s as,register liscence/serial # for install to start up. Q.#2: If bios reverts to '80's dates,never re-freshes,can I use,"Demo"cd images of "Warp-3" to install,since,machine will never change date @ start-up;I have to,manually set dates at boot-up?... IF any of you out there have Ideas about this,I'm pretty much at,wit's end. I've gotten used to being colour-blind,so,the B&W screen still is not an handicap to useing the Epson,it may be an 386 or 486,I don't know. It doesnt have,an C.D.,of course. warp 3 installs don't ask for serial #, for bios date problems it will depend more on the applications you use. os/2 software usually doesn't have a problem with dates. I believe it ignores the bios date in most cases. Some dos programs will notice this early date
