Comment:

I have my OS/2 V4 with two NICs, one being connected to the Internet and that works OK and the other NIC is for my LAN. The machines on my LAN are Win 98 as well as win 2k. The two Windows machine can communicate with each other but not to OS/2. The OS/2 cannot ping the Windows machines nor can the Win 98 machine ping OS/2. The routing table in the OS/2's TCP/IP configuration is empty. On the Windows machines have TCP/IP with Netbios running over it. On the OS/2 machine the configuration is:

RTL ethernet adapter (LAN)
0 - NetBios over TCP/IP
0 - TCP/IP
SMC ethernet adapter (Internet)
1 - TCP/IP

Any idea on what may be wrong?

I'm just guess that the two settings for the SMC should be 1=on as opposed to 0=off.
Just a guess.
Im interested the result as I've never networked Warp.

The number one problem with OS2 and TCPIP is that you use two different programs to configure the NICs. MPTS.exe and TCPCFG.exe, it is very important to note the following.

Under TCPCFG.exe Lan interface 0 applies to the first instance of the tcpip protocol listed in the program MPTS.exe configuration. NOT always the first NIC in MPTS.exe. This a big problems when using multiple nics. Also use the command (netstat.exe -r) to check your route tables. Good luck

Thanks for the article IP. Finally found a NIC OS2 (it wouldn't play ball with any of my d-links) liked, used your tips and by golly it worked. Now I have OS2 on my trusty old dx2/66 networked to my NT and win9x machines. Down loaded some good programs to pretty it up a bit and am having a ball of a time playing all my old Dos games without rebooting. And it starts them back up again after a shutdown-cool. Talk about stable.

After having tried a few flavours of Linux this is certainly my preferable OS.

Thanks again.
