Hi
I am not sure about os2 server, but I have just networked os2 warp4FP15 to a Windows peer to peer lan. To connect to Windows computers I installed Netbios as protocol 1, and both Netbios over Tcp/ip and TCP/IP as Number 0.

When I want to look at other Windows computers I call up the File and Print Client Resource Browser and get a login popup. Here I enter the user ID and password, but leave the "Login to:" line blank, and can then view and access other computers.

Networking isn't my speciality so I can't explain why this works.

Without being logged in on an OS/2 Server, there is no userID validation. Treat it like W98SE if you press cancel at the login screen. You can do almost anything except utilize the network resources.

This login screen allows network resources to be accessed. You can login to the local server. Other Windows machine need that userID and matching password on each computer, unless you paid for the OS/2 Windows domain client login at IBM.

This is required even if you do a "NET VIEW \\COMPUTER" on OS/2.

In Windows, local and network permissions are checked prior to accessing the computer.
