Comment: Is there anyway to kill all applications that idle for some time while leaving PMSHELL and all programs in STARTUP still running?

Reply: (edit)If you are looking for a program that senses which applications are idle and automatically kills them I don't know of such. However, on Hobbes you can search for a file called kill.exe or killem.exe. Use the pstat utility that comes with OS/2 to tell you which processes are doing what and use killem to stop them. Also try SET KILLFEATUREENABLED=ON in your CONFIG.SYS Some add-in products support this feature. You can access the feature simply by holding down your CTRL key and LMC (left mouse click) on the Window List icon of the WarpCenter. You will be presented with a list of all running processes. Click on one with your LMB (left mouse button) and you will be asked if you want to KILL the task. Answering YES will terminate the task. I found the above at http://web.jymis.com/~bkell/os2tips.html I hope this has been some help. Jon

Reply: (edit)Great!, I'll just create a DOS program to do that. Only thing is, how do I run DOS programs in the background?
