Hey guys,

It was a fight but I am the prevailing champion. Background: I love OS/2 and have ever since 2.1 f/win back in 93 on my 486dx40 w/16 mb ram 540mb. With the release of chicago and the gaming industry I walked away from my os/2. Well, I just said bye to my sweet XP system and I did it - OS2 Warp 3.

I bought Os/2 warp 3 redspine floppy and cd versions...ebay...both were too cheap to resist. Well floppies came in early so I dumped my Xp system :

Amd thunderbird 800
512 ram
40gig 7200 rpm
16x Toshiba DVD
12x LG CDR
ATI Radeon w 64mb
ATI TV Wonder
Phillips Thunderbird pci 128 sound
Realtec xx39 10/100 pci nic

Now Ezekiel (the pc) runs OS/2 Warp 3.0 with the base fixpack 3 and 5 applied before fixpack 40 was installed. All Disk distos btw even the stinkin fixpacks. I run Danis disk drivers and Sci Doctors: IBM SDD drivers. This thing is so stinkin fast I am amazed. Runs As fast as XP (don't care if anyone hates MS...they still make a good OS..hehehe...well XP is anyway) but only the gui aspect...commandline is soooo fast it is amazing. I am going to load postgresql and apache for os 2 soon....

Plenty of others extras I did while I was at it...WarpIn...The X theme from Netlabs... Warpzilla (w/java i think...not latest ver.)...Python is running and PHP is on the way.

Good old OS/2...She fought hard - man she fights hard - but I won and OS/2 is going to be a webserver soon!

Glad you won. I won last night too, trying to get my CD-R to work.

I am still on a high. I've been trying for a year now... success here and there with RSJ software, but was to pricey. I paid for it 2 years ago and they wanted full price for an upgrade. I think they reduced their pricing so who knows.

I got Audio Data CD Creator for Warp working with my Ext SCSI 8x Generic CD-R. Check it out on www.os2ezine.com "CD burning" on an archive.

OS/2 does fight hard, but you will win...
