Subject: installing os/2 hangs
OS: os/2 Warp V3
CPU/Ram: 400MHz ,128MB
Comment:
Hi
I've looked around the site and have been unable to find a fix.

When attempting to install OS/2 Warp Version 3 (Red Spine) on this pc (industrial, 400MHz CPU (P3), 128MB RAM, 10GB HDD (partitioned to 5GB and 5GB)), I get to the initial screen where OS/2 appears in the top left of the screen with the installation diskette0. However, at this point, the system hangs and does not load the IBM blue screen and ask for diskette 1.

I've tried a couple of fixes suggested in other posts, but they result in another problem, ie, system continually reboots or still hangs. I've tried to recreate the installation floppy from the CD but that also does not work.

Any ideas?

Yeah, I've done that but it still either hangs or reboots at this first stage of the setup when I insert the installation disk.

Is there a setting in BIOS for OS/2 <64MB memory ? you may need to enable this greater than 64mb memory switch !
