installing 2.1 on a Nec laptop

this will be a long one :
the laptop i'm trying to install on is a NEC ultralite versa with the following configuration:
486 at 25mhz 11 mb ram 180mb hdd phoenix bios com1 on irq 4 ltp1 on irq 7 chips and tech 65520/65530 video adaptor(vga) os is pc-dos 7.0 hard disk is on irq-14 bios version is 5.0.5.0 bios date is 1990 bus type is isa can anyone help me to get os-2 to install on this setup ? Thanks

There was an article on www.os2voice.org that got 2.1 on a machine. Check it out. Look for the "newsletter" link then search the archives.

thanks but the install shell stops, when it tries to losd the Gui componets, pmshell will load to a graphics screen(with an ever spining clock) can i copy a install from a desktop and have it work if i add the right drivers? (i don't care about pc cards)

Sir, there is only one way to do it here are the steps go in numerical order as follows: 1) turn on the nec 486 laptop w/ the cpu clocked at 24.7mhz, 2)proceed to smashing the system with a prefferably large hammer 3)then turn it off (if still on) 4)soak it if coffee 5)turn it back on 6)you are now able to install os/2!

well that is a sure fire method, i would need to buy a new laptop, i think a thinkpad woould due me good but.....
Summary: I try to install OS/2 2.1 on a virtual pc and it does OS/2 2.1 disks 1 disks 1-5 correctly. It asks for the install disk and I capture it but it throws up an error message. The message: Check the labe...
