I've gotten around to putting my PC together to install OS/2 Warp Server 4. This is based on the OS/2 Version 3 base operating system.I have followed the directions with installation and I have run into an issue. I think I know the problem, but I am looking for some 2nd opinions.
I start with Disk 1 with CD-ROM installation. It boots up and asks for the Install Disk 1. I swap the disks(there are two #1 disks), then it continues.
I have CD #1 in the CD-Rom drive, but when it comes to reading the CD, I don't think it's reading it. It's asking for Disk #2. There isn't a Disk #2.
I think the problem is OS/2 can't read the CD from the CD-ROM...which is a Toshiba SD-W2002 DVD-Ram drive. The DVD-RAM drive can read CDs and acts like a CD-Rom drive, but I don't know if it can read it.
Before it gets to this point, there is a screen that zips by but I can't read what's on it. It's something about CD-Rom files, but it goes by so fast I don't know if it's errors or not.
Any hints?
I am going to try a couple more times just to see if I can make out what it's saying about the CD-Rom files.

After taking quite a while to try and read the screen flashing the text, it is not loading OS2CDROM.DMD.Not sure why...could be that it's old and can't find the DVD-RAM drive.
Searching on the web I found JJSCDROM.dmd. I downloaded it, but...I can't copy it to the disk as my Windows PC can't read the disk? Are the install disks using HPFS?
Now...
I am using OS/2 Warp Server Version 4, which the base OS is OS/2 Warp Version 3. I checked out http://www.warpdoctor.org/downloads.html for updated install disks. They have disks for warp 4 and for warp 3, but not warp 4 server that is actually based on warp 3.
Should I use any of those disks?
My windows system can read the CD-ROMs.
Thanks for any help.

Cool, it looks like I should go with the OS/2 Warp 4 disks. According to those links OS/2 warp 4 is no different than OS/2 Warp 3 except for the addition of OS/2 Lan Server 4 info included. This version is better than I thought. I am not sure what the big deal about OS/2 Warp 4 is though.
