Hello every1!! :D
OK...I have 2 problems with an OS/2 Warp 3.0 that I got off eBay:

1. I always like 2 have backups of my disks in disk images in case they break (I do this with WinImage 7)...Install disk and Disk 1 are fine, but when I get to Disk 2, WinImage says "Disk error no. 65535 on track 0, head 0" immediately after the first disk "tick"...I went to the Properties of the disk and it said 2.00 MB, and it says it's full...and the weirdest of all, I went into the disk and all it was there was a 1 KB file called "PACKING.LST", and I have the option to show hidden/system files...
Is this "DMF"??I remember reading something about this, and that WinImage couldn't handle DMF on WinXP...so I tried it on a WIn2k machine, and it still said the same thing...I want to fix this quick, because I've had some terrible experiences with floppies...

2. I tried installing it (with the physical disks) on Virual PC 2004, and it told me I didnt have enough space!! it was a dynamic 16 GB hardfile, so I tried a fixed 2 GB hardfile and still the same... :(

Can anybody help me with this?? I'm really worried about prob #1 kuz I really dont trust floppies...

Thanx every1!! ;)

PS: I got the version that doesnt come with CD...

This will take care of one of your problems.

OS/2 Warp 3 install diskettes are created using
eXtended Density Format (XDF). This process it's not supported in DOS.
XDF disk will only take DIR & XDFCOPY commands,

To be able to make Backup copies you need to have completely installed OS/2 Warp 3 on the computer.

You only can use 1.44 or 2 MB disks.

Open an OS/2 window or full screen;

at command type XDFCOPY A: A: (Enter)

If you run CHKDSK on XDF disks you'll get
a message:
2560 bytes in bad sector
That's no problem, this bytes are in a protected area of the disk.

ciao.
