Reply: (edit)I'm using Partition Magic v.3.05. Never tried the IBM's Boot Manager (it can't be better). If you install OS/2 (I too have the Warp 3.0) after Win98, there may not be any problem. If you have installed the OS/2 first, here is the procedure. 1. The OS/2 partition has to start at the beginning of the hard disk (1024 cylinders limitation of the OS/2). For PQMagic's Boot Manager, it can be at the end of the hard disk as long as the BIOS recognizes it! For a FAT32 partition - the same. 2. Win98 requires a primary partition. Of two primary unhidden partitions, only the booted from the one is seen! Please keep in mind that the Partition Magic's Boot Manager automatically hides the second primary partition from the currently booted one! The IBM's Boot Manager is worse. In other words, you can set up two, interchangeably hidden via PM BM, primary bootable partitions. However, at the time of installation of either operating system, use the PQMagic to make this partition active while permanently hide the other primary one. After done with installation, reactivate the PM BM, and it will automatically do the job for you. The alternate way is to combine HPFS and FAT32. I keep OS/2 in an extended partition on a FAT16 logical drive while Win98 resides on a FAT32 partition. This scenario involves more work as you are concerned about drive letter assignment or switching from OS/2 to a native DOS. NOTE: Probably it's possible to have all of this working with the IBM Boot Manager as well. Just use the described above ideas and be prepared to some more inconveniances. Sam. 4/16/99.

Reply: (edit)Vlad, what is your question? Just install the OSs and that's it, taking into account all that Sam wrote. Asking how to install any OS is just not a question. What would you answer if someone asked "how do I drive a car"? Cheers, Andy
