I was running ME on my pc, i had a startup problem, i used the startup disk (among other things) to no avail and my only option is to running scandisk, everytime i do that i get the error message "SCANDISK ENCOUNTRED A DATA ERROR WHILE READING THE FAT ON DRIVE C" and this stops scandisk from running. Please help. I've been stuck for a month now.

Hi,
does ME mean WindowsME? It seams to me, that this is the OS/2 Forum! But, anyway, did you check your HD with f.e. Norton-Checkdisk? Seams, that your VFAT has a problem; tryed to rewrite the mbr on your HD with fdisk /mbr?
