I have a problem with Fixpak #15 for Warp 4. Recently I installed networking between my OS/2 box and an NT4 box. During this installation process I iscovered
that fixpak#15 has a bug in it--it freezes up my COM ports. In most cases that is not big deal any more today, but I have a digitizer on COM1 or COM2 for a CADD program I use extensively.

I backed out of fixpak15 to fixpak12 and everything is hunky-dory now. But here is my
other "Catch-22." I use Lotus Smartsuite ver. 1.1 and would like to upgrade to the most
recent version, 1.7. However, one of the caveats is that fixpak#15 is required to install
this version of Smartsuite! So, is there a solution for me out there re. Warp 4. I have
another solution that should solve this problem: ecomStation version 1.1 with Lotus
Smartsuite ver. 1.7.1 bundled.

Any comments out there?

Thanks.

Is there any real advantage in updating to Smartsuite 1.7? Also there maybe a way to install it on fp12. Editing the install script maybe...

Dear Hmmm,

Well, I don't need the latest version of Smartsuite, but all my Windozed clients never heard of it and don't know how to "save as..." another file format. They dutifully follow Microsoft's instructions to upgrade to the latest version of Office, Windoze, etc. and go from there. I don't know if Word 2000 even has an export filter for Wordpro. Bill Gates feels that he must remove all access to the competition to become the Nerd of the World, I guess.
