FAT32 support?

It's my understanding that there are free third-party utilities that give OS/2 support for FAT32. How well do these work? I am thinking about setting up a dual-boot system with Windows 98 SE. I would put Windows on a FAT16 partition, OS/2 on an HPFS partition and have a large FAT32 partition for data. I want both operating systems to be able to share the FAT32 data partition. Is this feasible?

You will need a blind fdisk like Partition Magic, the regular fdisk from Microsoft and Henk Helder's Fat 32 IFS installable driver for OS/2 or the DaniDASD V1.4.4 driver. These 2 drivers can be found from: http://www.os2world.com/cdwriting/cwusbmsd/archos.htm The above link gives details on the driver installation and changes to be made to your config.sys.You will install only one of the two drivers. I did not test it but read Mario's comment from a past Computing.net post. http://www.computing.net/os2/wwwboard/forum/635.html Good luck.

Summary: The error message is misleading. If I recall correctly, country.sys is about the first thing OS/2 loads after loding the IFSs. So you have a problem that HPFS.IFS doesn't understand your partition co...
Summary: OS/2 Warp V4 supports Fat and HPFS. But it exist freeware (example: os2fat32.zip) to add FAT32 as additional filesystem for OS/2. But this is only possible for no-bootable partitions. You can find thi...
