es1371 driver & Hardware detection

I've got different versions of that es1371 sond driver for soundblaster pci128. But to start it I need to activate the OS/2 hardware detection. I always get a trap error when doing so. Other PCI components are working fine - without that hardware detection. Does anybody know a hint for me ?
