Hello!
It's about 5-6 years since last time I was involved in a OS/2 system. Now I have to visit a customer that wants to upgrade his hardware (PC machine). He have hade the PC for about 5-7 years running a warehouse system with an oracle database, without any problems at all - it's just running and running and running... (applauses to OS/2!).

I have notice in this forum that there is problems with old OS/2 versions and large disk sizes. I'm not sure about the customers version but I think it is 2.1. My question is:

1.
What is the easiest way for my customer to check which version he have (without rebooting the system). He have no experience at all of OS/2?

2.
What is the largest harddisk size that OS/2 version 2.1 and Warp 3 can handle.

Warp3 that has not been updated (boot diskettes) should support HDDs till 4.2 GB, but since the computer you are talking about has some years of age, there probably will be a BIOS limitation about the maximum capacity of the HDD...

Lets hope my customer har has Warp3 because I have found a nearly "new" 2.5 GB HDD at office to use (I haven't been able to ask him to check the version yet).

Is there anyone out there that can tell me if ver 2.1 can handle a 2.5 GB HDD?

The most you'll get is 2GB (2048) I believe on 2.1.
