Is there a way to stop sendmail from loading on startup? I'd like to keep the SMTP port closed until I actually need it.

It was "TCPSTART.CMD" on my v4 box. Thanks for pointing me it the right direction. Much appreciated. Now all ports are closed that aren't in use ;).

You're right. Startup.cmd configures the interfaces. Tcpstart.cmd (which I meant) the services.
When exiting the TCP/IP notebook it asks you if you want sendmail to be autostarted (in combination with ultimail light). If you say yes here sendmail will be autostarted via tcpstart.cmd in the startup folder.
Tip: leave the TCP/IP Startup icon out of the System/Startup folder if you do not need any services. It's not needed for the internet clients (only startup.cmd is).

Thanks for that. I'm playing around with TCPIP on the wee network I've got so will leave as is for the moment.
