Something has interfered with my system default settings. It must have been a program error. Most of my desktop folders now open in Tree View by default instead of Icon View. I can open them in Icon View by right-clicking and choosing Icon View under "Open" but the default stays at Tree View. How do I reset the default back to Icon View?
Tommy.

Hi Tommy,
You can try the following, but you have to do each folder individually. I do not know of a way to globally change such a setting, although in the back of my mind, I think there is some way, which you may have accidentally done & ended up with the undesired default.
The following is from memory, since I'm not on an OS/2 machine right now, so you may need to make minor adjustments to these instructions. I think it should be pretty close. If something is way off, leave another posting on Computing.net & I'll make a point to get on an OS/2 machine & mark down the correct process to reply to you.
1. Right click on the folder's icon & select properties.
2. Click the "Menu" tab.
3. Click on "~open as"
4. Click on Properties.
5. From the "Default Action" drop down list, select the desired open behavior (~icon view).
5. Close each window by clicking on "save", "OK", "Apply" etc.I think you probably also have to right click on the desktop background & select "properties", then follow steps 2 through 5. You might even try this first, & see if all of your problems are solved without doing each other folder.
Good Luck.
Wally
