I've come into a sort of catch 23 situation:
I can install OS/2 jsut fine, but the CD-rom (a pretty standard modern one) doesnt appear. So, I can't install anything - not even the correct CD driver (if there is one) - as there is no CD ROM access.
What to do?

Hi naerstad...
how could you resolve your first posted isue abt the cd rom not recognizing by the os2 machine? can you pls advise on that? if you remeber can u pls reply to kris.rakesh@gmail.com
Thanks
Rakesh

You can install OS/2 without having the install disks. You can copy the files to the hard drive, using DOS or something.
1. Copy the diskette contents to \SomeDir\Label\ where SomeDir is a fixed name, eg OS2_v211, and Label is the same as the diskette label.
This means disk_0 (install), disk_1, disk_2, ... pmdisp1, ..., pmprnt1, etc.
2. Make a copy of diskette 2, and edit the config.sys file on it. You need to point this to
set os2_shell=sysinst2.exe d:\somedir
3. Begin installing OS/2 from these diskettes. After two or three diskettes, it starts copying from the hard disk.
