OS: OS/2 3.0
CPU/Ram: Cel 466 - 256Mb
Comment:

Seems the OS/2 installs fine. 6.4Gb HD it sees and formats HPFS 1 partition. I even had top replace the IDE driver so it would see the HD properly.

However, once I reboot after I cannot even receive the "OS/2" blob in the left corner, its like the HD does not exist. I get absolutely no errors and just sits there waiting for "something".

What does this mean? I know the drive is good cause XP was on it a week ago.

Thanks.

Sometimes, when I get this, it means it can't read the drive.

I use Daniela's HD Drivers replacements.

It replaces IBM1S506 Drivers that are in the config.sys.

If you can boot with your floppies and OS/2 recognizes the drive, then the drivers on the floppies are good. You can copy the IBM drvrs to the x:\OS2\BOOT folder or you can go to internet and grab Daniela's HD off of http:://hobbes.nmsu.edu Place these extracted files to a floppy. Make sure you read the Docs. Most likely you won't need all of the switches.

Boot with floppies, go to command prompt, insert the floppy with drivers, and type TEDIT x:\config.sys

Press ESC, then you are in edit mode.

Look for the IBM drivers, rem it out and create a new line that uses the DANIS drivers. Press F2 to Save (look at bottom of screen for more options), then F3 Quit, Reboot.

I also forgot to mention that you will need to copy the Danis files to the x:\OS2\Boot folder before rebooting and after making config.sys changes.
