Try the XP group.
You may need to reformat the HDD and reinstall the OS though.

you need to try to boot to safe mode or take the disk out and put it in another machine with ntfs (if you are using ntfs) and change the properties of the %systemroot%/system32/config directory and all subfolders and files from read only. you may get lucky and it will stay that way. mine keeps switching back for some reason.
