What is vms and what does it do

What does open vms do? What is open vms? Does it have a GUI like windows and mac and linux....etc or does it use command line? I was just curious. Also do any of you run RISC OS.

OpenVMS is a general purpose Operating system that runs on VAX and Alpha hardware. Biggest assets are its stability and security. It does have a GUI comparable with Linux CDE, but most people I know only use it for switching between several commandline sessions. The command language is called DCL.
