hi,

I run OpenVMS 7.2 on VAX.
I wanted to create some group of users in separate (deditated) directory.
I defined the device:
DEFINE /SYSTEM /TRANS=(CONC,TERM) USERS DKA400:[USERS.]

user home dir is GROUP.USERNAME that gives a correct homedir for user USERS:[GROUP.USERNAME]
everything work well. The user can log in, the home is assigned correctly etc.

BUT the mail does not work. It gives error:
%MAIL-E-SENDERR, error sending to user TEST1
-MAIL-E-OPENOUT, error opening USERS:[PROBA.TEST1]MAIL.MAI as output
-SYSTEM-F-IVDEVNAM, invalid device name

I would really appreciate is somebody could enlight the mistery.

Thank you in advance.
Regards, Z

Zoltan,
I am a little confused by what you are doing, however as a first step, I would suggest that you add a /EXECUTIVE_MODE to your DEFINE command.
