Another newbie question (I started with DCL today) I already created a script I called script.com under the commands directory. How can I set it up so that I can run it from any directory just by typing script, Do I have to change something in login.com?

thanks again,

Mauricio

Mauricio,

To invoke your command procedure that resides in xxx:[dddd.commands]script.com you need to define a symbol, say SCRIPTS as:

$ SCRIPTS :== @xxx:[dddd.commands]SCRIPTS.COM

You can issue this command directly from the "$" prompt, or you can add it to your LOGIN.COM.

Alternatively, you could use the DCL path support, but that can, particularly for a beginner, cause problems.

I hope that the above is helpful.
