Comment:

The Alpha Openvms V7.2-1 system has been restarted.

And now I am looking over what more needs to be done. I have found that TCPIP needed to be restarted by using TCPIP Config. And so now we can TELNET to the Vax Alpha from a remote computer.

But we are unable to use FTP. Is there a seperate program that needs to be run in order to be able to use FTP?

none

Bill,

FTP is enabled in the TCPIP$CONFIG.COM. Check under SERVER COMPONENTS and CLIENT COMPONENTS.
