Comment:

Really need some help!! I'm a complete VMS neophyte hobbyist. I installed Open VMS Alpha 7.3-1 off of a Hobbyist Kit CD-ROM onto an Alpha Station 200 as a standalone.

Would anyone experienced with VMS post-installation customization please provide me a "checklist" on what I need to edit in which startup command procedures to be able to operate in an X-Windows and CDE environment?

Right now, the boot up just takes me to the CLI and produces messages that show the system is not recognizing any graphics devices and does not recognize a terminal.

Would really appreciate help from some of you highly experienced VMS folks out there? I love this OS and would really like to learn more. I have become quite familiar with DCL thru using Open VMS at work.

Thanks,

Hilliard Terry
