hi, Ive been away from vms for a few years but picked up a little hobbyist licehse for home use.. love it so far but of course theres always questions...
Ive installed tcpip services and configured, deleted the config files and reconfigured many times, but cant figure this out.I have the vaxvlc, a cupole of iwndows xp boxes and a usrobotics router,( hub, wireless access point) all in same box. On the router I entered the mac address of the vax for access giving it an i[p address, Ive configured the vax with that address and the vax can pink the pcs, the pcs can ping the vax, but I cannot use ftp or telnet in either direction. I dont think vax to windoes would work anyhow, but thought pc to vax would, butpc says connection refused. ultimately I want to create decwinoes on the pc or on a linux running on one of my pcs, but dont know linux well enough to try this yet, so was hoping to use windows first. any suggestions would be aprecitated
thankyou

Any information in the accounting or Audit log ? Also FTP produces a logfile in SYS$SYSDEVICE:[TCPIP$FTP] .
How to create a X-Window on another machine is in the FAQ, chapter 11.
