Mail attachments

I'm trying to send file attachments via the VMS mail utility. Everything I send goes out as part of the message body rather than as an attachment. I'm assuming I need to specify some sort of MIME spec, but I don't know how.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Try the (undocumented)

$ MAIL SEND/FORE filename.ext

command. Also see

Thanks. Both suggestions lead me in 2 different directions, but both were very helpful.

It appears that the MIME utility with VMS is, shall we say, incomplete???
