I had some Linux servers needed to ftp to Open VMS 7.3 Complainting 421 Service not available, remote server has closed connection Then We had tested using differernt FTP client on different OS (Win / UNIX, etc) the ftp connection OK. It seems it only fail when we ftp in linux servers. [in@in]$ ftp 192.168.0.1 Connected to 172.168.0.2 220 COM FTP Server (Version 5.3) Ready. Name (in): ftp 331 Username ftp requires a Password Password: 230 User logged in. Remote system type is VMS. ftp> cd area_07 250-CWD command successful. 250 New default directory is area_07:[USER.PORTAL_FTP] ftp> ls 421 Service not available, remote server has closed connection The problem is I use Linux FTP client will fail while it is ok for other FTP client on other OS. 1. Does it related to Linux FTP server ? or only the Client problem. 2. Any of you tried to connect to open VMS through Linux server? 3. Anyone know how to fix that? Please share your experience

Leonso, Since no one else has responded, I will offer what I can. It looks like you are running "TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS" as the server's IP stack. If that is so, there should be a log file named "UCX$FTPSERVER.LOG" in the login directory of the ftp username. This file may contain more information that will help solve your problem.
