We have an old, yet important, Digital Alpha 2100 server running with Digital Unix 4.0D. Since the HDD is near its end, I ordered a new identical HDD. Now my question is how to move the data from the defect HDD, to the new one and make it run fine again.
I've got 2 disks, 1 called RZ0A and one RZ2A (bad mfr). I've tarred (tar cvfz) the RZ2A disk to a file on the RZ0A disk. Now I need to mount the new disk, create the filesystem, and restore the tar file back to RZ2A. How do I do the last part?
