Hi,
I am new to VMS's DCL and want to know if the following is possible.I am running a model that takes various input files and produces a number of output files. I want to write a .COM file that renames the output files after the model has finished, with strings from various lines in various input files.
I have got as far as creating a string of the name I require, but how do I now rename the output file with this string?

The next example renames output.txt to newname.txt :

$ new-name-string = "NEWNAME.TXT"
$ RENAME OUTPUT.TXT 'new-name-string'
