I need some clarification in system backups …

Plz clarify my doubts ..

How to take the whole system disk backup into tape., and how to restore. Is it possible to boot the system from tape drive?. How to take the reliable system backup into tapedirive.

Is it possible to take the system disk backup
in to Cd. in a critical situation , How to boot the systerm from Cd.

And i was having 18 GB system disk,The usage of 18GB disk is more than 9GB (for example 14GB) and i was have two 9gb disk one is in storage subsystem and one more is in system bay. Is it possible to take the 18GB system disk backup image in to 9GB disk, How to boot the system from storage disk?. How to restore 9Gb image (Which is taken by 18GB) in to 18GB ..?

One more question..

i have 3 systems , How to take the 3 systems disk backup into single disk, And how to boot the 3 systems separately using single disk.
