Comment:

I recently installed an alpha station and loaded operating system and application programs ok.

On cycling the power supply the system gets to >>> and stops. I have to type 'BOOT' for system to continue.

Can anyone kindly remind me about how to make the boot auto so that system runs all the way to the top on recycling of power? I am rusty on my DCL.

I will appreciate any help

In consolemode type

>>> show a*

and you will find a parameter called AUTO_ACTION.

This parameter could be set to "HALT", "BOOT" or "RESTART".

>>> set AUTO_ACTION value
