Hello,

I am using dedicated VAX/VMS network running
DECNET having VAX as server & Alpha stations.

I want to access this network from windows to
copy files to windows, view log files.

I could access Alpha station through serial port.
Is there any way to access nework without affecting VAX/VMS network.
Waiting for your comments.
Thanks in advance

Anand

You are verry vague in describing Your envrironment:
VMS versions ?
All VMS in a cluster ?
LAN or WAN connectivity between VMS and PC world ?

Dwepending on that, please have a look into HP VMS network overview site:
http://h71000.www7.hp.com/network/n...

There are 3 main possibilities:

1. Pathwork/Advanced server (not recommended for future systems).

2. Samba/ CIFS: serves VMS volumes as PC network drives in a TCP/IP network

3. NFS : serve VMS disks to TCP/IP networks, needs NFS software on windows side.
