You have options, with Option 3 being the one that I would recommend.
1 - You can save the Works file as a .doc so people with Word can open it.
2 - You can ask the people with Word to use File...Open and then use the "Files of type" dropdown and select the .wps filetype.
3 - You can download the free OpenOffice suite from www.openoffice.org which will allow you to not only save documents, spreadsheets and presentations in MS office format, but you'll be able to open any MS Office files that people send you.
4 - You can purchase a Student version of MS Office for less than the standard retail version.
Summary: As far as I can determine, MS Works is needed to open .wps files, or a converter to allow opening with MS Word - but I don't have either program. Is there another way to open such files? ...
