workbook data not updating in excel

When I open a monthly report in excel 2000, make changes to various cells in various worksheets, then save the file to the same name.....then open the same file a few days later, the "old data" shows up in the cells. If I start opening each worksheet from the begining toolbar at the bottom of the page, the "new data" then appears; but I have to open each & every worksheet for all the "new data" to show up in each worksheet......drives me crazy. Thought I lost all new input data. Any ideas???

see in "links" options to refresh datas at each openin. The same for "tools/calculation".
