I just got WordPerfect Office 11 today. I bought it because it said it worked on XP. I tried installing it, and followed the directions this time: closed all unneeded apps. including AVG and Zone Alarm. When I clicked on the icon to start it, I was told I didn't have high enough access, that I should log on as the Administrator.
Well, LOL, I AM the administrator! I tried creating a user named System Administrator. Didn't work. Uninstalled it all, since it seemed to hang up on registration. (I don't think this version is registratable anymore.) I went to the Corel site and tried downloading the Service Packs. Got the same message. There is no more tech support for version 11. I tried running the Compatibilty Wizard, but again, no luck. (I got the old version 6 running that way.)
The Readme file says it works on XP SP1. Since I have SP2 and all up to the latest, I figured that the Service Packs from Corel would take care of that. However, Corel uses it's own downloader and it told me it was unable to complete this download (31 Mb!) No option for using the Windows downloader.
So, here is my question, at last: How can I make this program work? I have always loved Wordperfect, using it clear back to DOS days. I want to use it on my small home network. It does evferything I need it to do. I will appreciate any help I can get here.
Thanks in advance.
Bob
