Comment: When I go to open a document in either Excel or Word, I always have to click on the 'up one level' button 4 times to get to 'My Computer' and then reach my desired directory to get the files I need. Is there a way to shorten this process so when I open the 'Open' box I have not need to go through this long process every time I go into Excel or Word? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Reply: In Excel go to Tools, Options, General and change the Default file location to the one you want. For Word: Tools, Options, File Locations and hit Modify. I believe this should do it for you. I could be wrong though. I am presently on Office 97. Bryan

Reply: Place all your data in your "My Documents" folder. It's the first location that's shown in the "Open" box. Life is more painless for those who are brainless.
