Word 'Save as' active window hidden

If I have a file already open in Word 2000, and click FILE, SAVE AS, the anticipated dialog box is hidden. Furthermore, the MS Word button on the toolbar at the bottom flashes. If you click MS Word on the toolbar the SAVE AS dialog window appeears, and everything works OK. <ALT> + <TAB> does not bring it to the foreground when this occurs either.
I have also witnessed a simlilar problem if you try printing, and there is an issue with margins. The printer settings message window is hidden.
Has anyone seen or fixed this previously? Thanks for any help!

Seen it, yes. And irritated by it, yes. And posted it as an issue, yes. But know how to fix it - sorry, no! Thanks for posting it, hope somebody comes up with the solution this time!

No luck here, but I found the cause and solution in an MS Newsgroup, as follows:
If you are running Norton AntiVirus, disable the Office Plug-in. See "Title Bars Flash, Word Becomes Unresponsive, or Word Cannot Close" at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=812075
