I try to install Word Perfect Office 2000 on my Win 2000 pro machine, but when it gets to the file pfvm90.pfc it hangs. I went to the corel support page and it said I had to stop some process.. like msgrv32. There is no process running like that! Can someone help me with this problem? I would like to get this program installed!

Try restarting in save mode (push f8 repeatedly right before the windows startup screen shows up and select safe mode) and installing from there. This will prevent any unecessary processes from running.
Good luck,

You may have a problem doing it that way. In Safe Mode you aren't going to have any CD drives.

Good point Dave. I wasn't sure if cd-drives worked in 2000 safe mode or not. If that is the case, then copy the entire cd to a folder on your hard drive (in normal mode)and try installing from that folder in safe mode. I do that on the older versions of wp and it works o.k.

I should have elaborated a little. Yes the method you suggested about copying the files first while in normal mode would be the best way. I guess I got ahead of myself!

Even while trying to copy the contentes to a folder, it still hangs on that same file. It even does that durring safe mode. What can be going on here?

Interesting...The file may be corrupted or the cd may be scratched. Can you see any big scratches? Try to get another cd from a friend or use one of those cd fixing gadgets you can get at the mall...I've never tried them myself but I'm told they actually work. Maybe somebody here has a disk and can e-mail you the file, then you could try copying everything else and then putting in the e-mailed file where it belongs...

Thanks for posting the update.
