Hi,
When saving a document in word with a password, I am wondering where that information gets stored? Would this increase the file size of the document?

It is stored in the file. It might increase the file size, but that depends on if Microsoft already allocated password space, regardless of whether or not you set a password. Try it - save a document without a password, and then save it with a password and see if the file size changes.
