word files corrupted

I got this friend who is very worried because his word documents are getting corrupt in the strange way below, BUT not all of them

as you can see in the above picture the menu changes , it is not normal, doesnt even have a properties ...

in the above picture he is trying to open the same file from Word


He made a scan disk and no bad sectors reported.

He uses Antivir as an antivirus and found nothing too ...

what could this be ?!

hope this helps, if not the problem may be in one of the 4 updated from MS over Easter.

Delete them and re install one at a time and test to find the culpret.
