I am trying to solve a crazy issue in Word (at one of our branch locations).
OUr staffer reports that at the start of each new line Word decides to change the font on her - any ideas?
This is Word 97 and Times New Roman is the default font.

You need to create a blank document (or one with the formatting that you want) and save it as newnormal selecting "document template (*.dot)" from the "save as" drop down menu.
When word creates a new document it does so using the normal.dot template. Before you save it look to see where it is saving as this varies between systems (and you may need to switch on view > hidden files from your tools > folder options menu).
Go to the place where it is saved and rename your old normal.dot file as oldnormal.dot and rename your newmormal.dot as normal.dot. Hopefully this will cure your problem - if not you can reverse the name change to get back to where you were !
