Hi,
I installed Microsoft office 2007 professional yesterday. After installing when I try to open word it gives the following error
"Unable to locate component MSVCR80.dll",but excel, access and powerpoint are opening.
I have win xp pro SP2 with latest patches updated and all .Net frameworks installed(1.1,2.0 and 3.0).
I searched in net.downloaded that dll and copied to system32 folder. Then it gave a new error.
"R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly."
and
"dynamic link library initialization routine failed".
I reinstalled/repiar office 2007 but of no use.
I installed microsoft vc++ redistributable library but no result.
Have anyone faced such problem?

One more addition to the problem.
1.
I dont have Norton or windows defender installed.
2.
I installed 2 addins for word

For what it's worth, when I see errors like these after installing any app, I take one of 2 paths:
1 - Do a system restore back to before I did the installation and try it again.
2 - Uninstall the app, restart the system and reinstall the app.
There are too many things that can go wrong during an install to try and fix them manually, as you have seen. If the above procedures don't work, then I start digging deeper.
I also don't install any add-ins or bolt-ons until I'm sure the app, in it's basic configuration, is working properly.
Hope that helps.

Did you download the DVD's from Microsoft, or did you purchase them from a retailer, or did they come with your computer?
I did a lookup on Microsoft's web site and could find any thing with that particular message. I agree with DerbyDad.
Microsoft has excellent support for not only Office '07 Pro, but for the BCM and SB Accounting that comes with the Pro version. Their follow up with you after the call is excellent as well.
Of course if it came with your PC then you need to call the PC manufacture.
