Word 2003 Mail Merge Question
I have a client who uses Visual FoxPro to automate Mail Merges with MS Word 2003. They manually connect the Mail Merge Data Source (XLS) to the Word DOC and save that connection. Next, they use VFP to call up Word 2003, hand it the letter name, and tell Word to merge. They are finding that Word 2003 forgets its Data Source (an Excel Spreadsheet) and they have to go back into the letter and reconnect to the XLS.
Anyone else having a problem with Word 2003 losing its data source?

Is the user saving the document after the data source is selected?

Yes, the user is saving the document after the data source is selected. This has worked fairly well until Word 2003. I am wondering if it is an interaction of Visual FoxPro driving MS Word 2003 while automating the Mail Merges.

Summary: using Word 2003, mail merge works up to the point where I select the data source, then it all crashes back to the desktop. Other PCs (exactly the same) using the same application work fine. Any idea...
